— The Story Behind Our St. Louis Spa —
Aquarius Wellness Center for Healing Arts is a unique boutique wellness retreat located in the heart of St. Louis County, MO, founded in 2012 by Andrew Goodman. As a premier day spa and wellness haven, Aquarius Wellness nourishes the body, mind, and spirit by taking visitors back in time, reintroducing them to the true art of holistic wellness that has been carefully and lovingly cultivated by certain cultures for thousands of years. As a St. Louis native and former world traveler, Andrew’s life has been an odyssey of adventure for the last 50 years, and together with his team his calling is to be in service to both people and planet.
Andrew’s vision for Aquarius was inspired by his incredible breadth of exposure to wide-ranging artistic and cultural influences during his global travels over many years, and as a student of massage therapy for over three decades, he learned and perfected his craft in St. Louis, California, India, and Costa Rica. Additionally, as a devout spa enthusiast, Andrew has experienced spa culture far and wide, from France to Finland, and Bangkok to Budapest, educating himself and enriching his understanding of how massage therapy is practiced across different cultures and regions.
This conglomerate of educational and first-hand experiences, combined with his adoption of an intense Ashtanga yoga practice beginning in the mid 80s in San Francisco and Hawaii, under, literally, the unrelenting but loving tutelage of K. Pattabhi Jois ("what doesn't kill you makes you stronger", and ultimately leading him to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine for his 30th birthday, all 2138 miles of it, and to studying massage therapy at the Osho Ashram in Pune, India), fueled Andrew’s desire to bring an “Oasis of Calm...and Heart” back to the heartland…unlike anything, anywhere!
For Andrew, the greatest sense of fulfillment is seeing patrons at Aquarius relaxing and unwinding from the stresses and strains of daily life in a cozy, homey environment, one that affords them the opportunity to deeply recharge and renew themselves, so they may then go back out into the world with a renewed sense of purpose, energy, and commitment to pay it forward to current and future generations — "A Path with a Heart" in the words of Don Juan, and personal wellness is the vehicle via which we traverse it according to Andrew!

"H-O-L-Y C-O-W " (we all know he didn't say cow). That guy knows what he is doing! I was expecting a run-of-the-mill locker room rubdown and a complete waste of time and money.
